Thank you for helping make a difference by accelerating research towards a COVID-19 vaccine!

Where Funds Go for COVID-19 Vaccine Research

The funds will be split between a global research collaboration and a Canadian research project. Our scientific Advisory Committee chaired by Dr. Doug Mahoney has helped us select two projects/institutions that we feel can have the greatest research impact towards a COVID-19 vaccine that aligns with our goals:

1. Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI): CEPI is a global alliance financing and coordinating the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases. CEPI is an innovative partnership between public, private, philanthropic, and civil organizations launched to develop vaccines to stop future epidemics. CEPI’s headquarters are in Oslo, Norway, with offices in London, UK, and Washington DC, USA.

2. The Western University of Ontario (UWO) co-funded project with the CIHR: “Shutting down emerging Coronaviruses in humans now and in the future“. Dr. Stephen Barr, the Principle Investigator from UWO was just on CBC’s Quirks & Quarks talking about the approach to vaccines.
